Have Your Cake
I saw this adorable book and just had to check it out — it’s from a new-to-me designer, Dodi Lee Poulsen of Two Sisters at Squirrel Hollow.
There are some very cute quilt projects in this book — all of which come with matching cake recipes. Poulsen couldn’t decide what fabric cuts to design with — layer cakes, fat quarters, jelly rolls — so she used them all. Each quilt uses a different “cut” of fabric, and she also included a quilt made from fat eighths, one from charm squares, as well as a yardage based project.
I’m trying to decide if I should start with Birthday Cake, or Angel Food Cake — or maybe Tweet D Pie (because sometimes you’d rather have pie instead!) And those are just the desserts, I’m considering. Maybe I should start with one of the quilts, first!
Or maybe I’ll just have some Beef Cake:
There’s a little bit of something for everyone, and I think this book is a great addition to your quilting library.
